Working with colour
Working as a colour technician for over 15 years, it’s an understatement to say I love working with all things colour. I’m someone who sees everything as colour.
It’s not the same for everyone, though. It can be one of the most daunting aspects of renovating your home.
Over the last few years, there has been a big trend towards white and neutral spaces, which, don’t get me wrong, I love. White is always at the top of my list, but the colour is making a comeback.
So here are some of my favourite tips to help you map out your colour palette.
Use no more than 3 - 5 colours in a room.
Artwork can set the benchmark for your entire colour scheme, so choose wisely, as you want to layer those colours throughout your home.
It doesn’t have to be the exact colours in your artwork. Applying layers of the same colour in varying hues can make the room feel effortless.
Using similar colours throughout multiple rooms can create cohesion within your home.
